The National Maritime Museum is the world’s largest maritime museum with 10 free galleries and a vast collection that spans artworks, maps and charts, memorabilia and thousands of other objects. 

The World in your Neighbourhood is initially touring the boroughs of Greenwich and Lewisham collecting community stories about how people came to be in their neighbourhoods, charting journies from the micro to the macro. At the vehicle's various stopoffs the museum Education Department host creative activities about place, moving and belonging with a focus on public engagement,

Visitors are invited to add their story to the archive housed within the van and tell the museum what they think a future museum gallery all about the movement of people should include..
